Arrival by air is via Manzanillo International Airport, an easy 2-1/2 hour flight from Los Angeles and a short forty minute drive. Alaska Airlines has three flights a week and Aero California also services Manzanillo out of LAX. An adventurous alternative is to fly into Puerto Vallarta which has many more flights but is a longer drive.

Renting a car at either Vallarta or Manzanillo is a relatively simple matter, prices are a little lower than in the States. If you reserve ahead you will know the prices and your car will be waiting for you.

- ground transport

If you don’t plan to leave La Manzanilla much you can probably do without a car. A taxi ride from the airport costs between $30-$40 US. From La Manzanilla economical public transportation is available into Melaque and taxi service can be arranged for other destinations.
